All peaceful here at the Koala Hospital - patients are doing really well and we have four joeys ready for release and some out of area koalas from Barrington (near Gloucester) and three from Gunnedah all bouncing with health and just about ready to be returned.
Down in Victoria the koalas are not doing well at all. The Blue Gum Plantation issue in Western Victoria and South Australia is still causing devastation - koalas are still being ripped out of trees as they are being logged and the Victorian Government just doesnt seem to want to know about it. Even the loggers themselves on the plantations are very upset with the whole mess.
Why we ask - why are these precious native animals being treated this way?
